Here's a list of NBA Teams grouped by the Interstate Highways that run through their city. If any part of the road is within the city limits of the team's city, it counts. Let's get some rivalries going.
I-5
Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Blazers
I-10
Clippers, Lakers, Suns, Spurs, Rockets, Pelicans
I-20
Mavericks, Hawks
I-35
Spurs, Mavericks, Thunder, Timberwolves
I-40
Thunder, Grizzlies
I-45
Rockets, Mavericks
I-55
Bulls, Grizzlies
I-70
Nuggets, Pacers
I-75
Pistons, Hawks
I-77
Cavs, Hornets
I-80
Jazz, Kings, Warriors
I-85
Hornets, Hawks
I-90
Celtics, Cavs, Bulls
I-94
Pistons, Bulls, Bucks, Timberwolves
I-95
Heat, Wizards, 76ers, Knicks, Nets
Bulls, Hawks and Mavericks are in the most groups at 3 each.
I-10 connects the most NBA cities with 5 cities.
I-95 saved 5 teams from not making the list, they are all connected together but not to anyone else.
Magic is the only US team not connected to another NBA city by a Interstate Highway. Magic get your shit together.
This list is only if two or more NBA cities share an interstate. EX. I-15 has SLC, but no other cities so it's not on there.
This also is only if the road goes through the city proper, not metro area. I'm counting Brooklyn as part of NYC (because it is), and 95 goes through Manhattan and Bronx.
Yes I have a lot of time on my hands.
