A journeyman for most of his NBA career, Anthony Carter bounced around from one team to the next (Miami, to San Antonio, to Minnesota) until he wound up in Toronto in 2011/12 for the final year of his career as a result of a free agency signing where he came off the bench for 24 games before being waived; this was DeMar DeRozan's 3rd season with the Raptors where he put up 16.7/3.3/2.
Fast forward 13 years later and DeMar DeRozan, still playing at an All-Star level, will be joining Anthony Carter's son, Devin Carter, as a member of the Sacramento Kings for the 2024/25 season. Devin Carter was drafted in 2024 with the 13th overall pick.
It's like poetry, it rhymes.
