LeBron being able to maintain prime numbers well into his late 30s has drastically altered trade value and contracts for older players, and Phoenix suns may have the two worst examples of this.
Chris Paul getting a mammoth contract, while productive, was and is way overs for a guy who is clearly declining and performing at maybe half the value of his deal.
And today, the Suns have completely mortgaged their future for a 34 year old superstar to play alongside Paul. Durant is that guy, but that's when healthy. Is he worth such a haul, considering his age and injury history?
I think the Suns have possibly looked at the production of LeBron and thought they can get similar out of Durant.
They've put themselves in strong contention for the title, but if they don't this season, and go into next season with CP3 a year older and more washed and Durant 35, alongside another injury riddled star in Booker, I believe it'll have the Suns pretty screwed for several years.
CP3 has fallen off a cliff But Lebron is just the ๐, KD is still a top 5 playerโฆ.
