Alright, let me preface this by saying that I'm not trying to say Big Navy has done a perfect job, or even a good job. This isnt so much a defense of their policies as it is a reminder that in this case we are more at the whims of the civilian world than in most other cases.

The government knew about this and did nothing until things were catastrophic. Other countries acted more quickly and handled the problem better and they are all doing much better than we are right now. The fact of the matter is that if we had competent leaders and elected officials, we might be able to come out of lockdown and enjoy life again. But instead we have someone who openly stated he asked for tests to be slowed down and seems to do everything he can at every turn to not only mess with the health and safety measures, but also actively show division among the country. A person who actively encouraged people to disobey instructions coming FROM HIS OWN ADMINISTRATION. The moment where he showed the most feeling and emotion was after his little circle jerk feel good rally didnt get the numbers he wanted. Not the preventable deaths from illness, not the police brutalizing people in the streets (by his order, in some cases). No it was his little fucking rally that upset him the most.

At the end of the day we are assets of the Navy and the Navy is going to try and protect its assets. No they dont always do it in a reasonable or efficient or logical or caring fashion, but sailors cant work if they're dead. My point is there is no point getting pissed at Big Navy for doing what Big Navy do.

We should be pissed at the absolute morons who abandoned their duties to protect this country when this mess started. We should be furious at the scumbags who waited to release information or do anything to prepare until they rearranged their stock portfolio so they could make money. We should be angry at the vile pieces of shit who claim that matters of public health are a political issue and use a GLOBAL PANDEMIC for their own personal and political gain.

The election is in fall. I am not telling you who to vote for. Personally I'm not thrilled about any of the choices. And I'll be honest, the next president probably isnt going to make the broad sweeping changes we need. That change will come at lower levels like Congressmen and Senators, and most of those old bastards need to be voted out too.

But there is one man who absolutely needs to be out of office, and if there was an ounce of justice in the universe, in prison. We managed to survive 4 long years, we may not make it another 4.
