As a 30-year-old dad of two wild but wonderful kiddos living in Pensacola, FL, I’ve learned a thing or two about navigating online connections. Sharing some insights, both serious and lighthearted, for those in the same boat:
Things I’ve Learned So Far
A well-written post might slightly improve your chances, but in the end, luck decides how many responses you get.
If the conversation gets too hot too quickly, it’s either a jackpot or a catfish. Spoiler: It’s usually the latter.
An immediate response to your post? Buy a lottery ticket—you’re having a lucky day!
Just because the conversation is great for 2 days, don’t get too hopeful. It can crash anytime.
Same goes for 5 days, 10 days, or even a month. (Consistency is key, but expectations? Keep them grounded.)
If your AP suddenly gets “too busy” all the time, it’s probably time to move on. That’s where I’m at now.
A lot of “what about you?” responses? Save your energy and look elsewhere.
Clarity is everything. Be upfront about:
If you find a good AP, cherish it. Most don’t get so lucky.
Lastly, remember there’s a person on the other side with real feelings. We’re all a little broken to be here—so be kind.
Who you are: A fit 30-year-old guy from Pensacola, FL. Dad of two. Terrible bathroom singer, but I own it.
What you want: An emotional connection that goes beyond the spicy moments. Someone to really talk to.
What your limits are: I can’t leave my marriage. Also, I’m not here for people who only give abbreviated replies (hbu, hru, etc.) or treat conversations like interviews.
If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out. Who knows? Maybe we’ll find that elusive connection together.
