I’ll be in town for a conference. I noticed it also happens to be the weekend for the Seattle pride parade! It should be a great weekend to wander the city and people watch and find some adventure between conference sessions. Perhaps we can meet for drinks on Friday evening when I arrive and then see each other as many times as schedules allow while I’m there. I should be mostly available evenings and some daytime breaks when I want to skip boring sessions.

I’m an old punk who somehow ended up going to grad school. These days I work from home writing code for modeling and data visualization and grant applications and reports, alone all day. I find myself craving reasons to get out more. I live near mountains and love hiking. I’m an avid bouldering gym climber. I love live bands, tattoos, data science, health policy, woodworking and good beer. I wouldn’t say I’m a libertarian or a hunter but I’d like to think Ron Swanson and I would get along socially! Although I’m probably more cannabis friendly than Ron. I’m very good with my hands. I’m kind, deeply empathic, socially responsible, sexually safe and hygienic and had a vasectomy years ago to take control of my own family planning desires. I have three teens. They’re great fun to watch grow up (except of course when they’re being reclusive assholes). We play video games and share tik toks. I have a spouse, second marriage, stable, chill, drama free. We both tend to be driven and independent. We’ve always agreed that if either of us chose to seek out adventures when we are on our own, we should just be discrete about it and don’t bring anything home. I don’t travel much for work anymore. I’ve never been one to pic someone up at a hotel bar but occasionally in the past I’ve posted ads on the old CL personals and met fun people on a work trip! Let’s make friends and make the most of a fun weekend!
