At the convergence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers lies Fort Defiance, a civil war era fort that now exists as a city park in Cairo, Illinois. Congress has chosen it to be the site of a new major fort, which shall be aptly named Fort Defiance II. The fort shall be capable of housing tens of thousands of soldiers as well as having an air base and facilities for launching gunboats and patrol boats. This base will cost $60,000,000.
Also, outside Ft. Wayne, Indiana, we will be constructing Fort Debs, named after Indiana native Eugene V. Debs. This base will be slightly larger than Fort Defiance and have all the same facilities, minus the naval capacity, of course. This fort will cost $50,000,000.
The construction of the forts shall take 7 months.
