Hello all. I'm a prior service Marine that jumped over to the guard on an 11B contract. I haven't gone to OSUT yet but have been drilling with my unit for 8 months now, done IWQ, an AT, etc.
On the civilian side I've been trying to go for LE but was medically disqualified on the grounds that my eyesight without glasses is bad despite being correctable 20/20 w/ lenses. More than likely going to try and get lasik in the future to remediate this issue but this brings me to my main point:
Was there ever a non-corrected vision requirement for the Army/DoD in general or was it always just 20/20 corrected vision? It just annoys me how the army says I'm good to go shoot shit, kick doors, etc with glasses but both federal/civilian LE say I'm not.
