Hey guys, noob 09S currently in RSP-O here. Asking this way ahead of time bc I'm a geek that likes to plan for the future, but I already know to focus more on the present.
Anyway, I'm due to start State OCS (for FL) in March 2024. If I get through it without a hitch, then graduation will most likely be October-ish 2025 for my class.
In my civilian life, I'm trying to get into this intensive 1 yr. Master's program that would start in the summer of 2026 and last until the summer of 2027. So, ideally, I would be able to get a BOLC that would start and end either between when I earn my commission and would be starting my Masters or after I obtain my Master's.
I know I have to complete BOLC within 2 years of earning my commission, and from what I hear, NG officers have more of a decision in when they get into BOLC for their branch compared to AD (if they are proactive). But what is the likelihood that I could angle my way into getting assigned a BOLC that fits my ideal window? If I get orders, can I appeal them based on me attending a Master's program?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
