I've been flying out to my unit for the better part of a year and a half now and flights have now tripled in price over the last year. Today I booked a flight that normally last year would've been $48 on the high end and now they're approaching $170 for the same two flights. Almost my whole drill pay. Luckily I was able to find another airline and split them up but it's still costing me $110. Still more than double since last year. I'm not going to complain too much when I get my paperwork for AD all done and I have nothing to do where my unit is, I'll just start doing drill with the unit in my city but knowing the other people who make that same trip every month and for a couple pilots 4x a month it's going to be ridiculous. That's almost all of their pay outright. Like damn my guy. That's tuff.
Say whatever you want about us choosing to live where we do in our state, but there aren't the same work or housing opportunities where our unit is as compared to the city we're choosing to live in. For the moment. In the next 10 years it'll be better I'd think
