I moved here from Oregon, where every registered voter automatically gets a voter's pamphlet in the mail along with their ballot. The pamphlet has statements from every single candidate, which usually includes their platform, prior experience, and a list of endorsements. Ballot measures have their full text provided, along with an official summary and arguments, submitted by various organizations and individuals, arguing both in favor and against (anyone can submit one, for a modest fee). This makes informed voting very easy, and is especially helpful in down-ballot, low profile races. It's also fun reading, bc some candidates are deranged and their statements are minor works of outsider art.
Now I'm here. It never occurred to me before that other places don't provide a voter's pamphlet, but as far as I can tell that seems to be the case. So what do I do? Is there a comprehensive go-to place for this info?
Edit: in this particular election, I would especially appreciate more info on the constitutional amendments. It's not entirely clear from some of their texts what the effects would be. Who is pushing them and why?
