Hello fellow name nerds! Long-time subscriber, first-time poster.

I’m in the market for a name for a mini Australian puppy! I don’t have any kids, and all my previous dogs were shared amongst my brothers and I, so it’s the first time naming responsibilities are falling solely on my shoulders.

My dogs in the past have been Jessie, Willow, and Mosie. Mosie has been my favorite name so far. It was a play on “Josie” because the people we got her from had nicknamed her “Mo” and we combined the two to make “Mosie”. I think it’s right in that sweet spot where it’s not a human name but it’s not way out there either. Cute, but still unique enough that I’ve never met another dog named Mosie. That’s the direction I’d like to take with this new dog.

It’s another female pup and so far I’m leaning toward names like Mallie, Kaya, and Mika (pronounced Mee-ka). I’d love to hear your input because I’m not entirely sold on any of those yet.
