Is it weird to change my (M24) full name?

Post Body

I've always disliked my first name. It sounds too "kiddy", both full and nicknames. I'm considering just going by my name/nickname that most of the people I talk to (mostly online) know me as. I just worry that people will find it too "edgy" or strange (I live in the south) or that people may take it the wrong way.

I'm no longer attached to either of my middle names (I have 2 middle names, technically), and neither am I attached to my father's last name (he pretty much disowned me, haven't spoken in 5 years), so I'm wanting to do a total revamp of my identity. I'd like to leave the past where it is and just start fresh as a new me. The old me is someone that I want to leave behind.
