How is the performance on PS4?

I'm looking for a nice relaxing game to play and this caught my eye, as it's currently on sale. I did read about the PS4 version having some trouble with glitches and crashing, has that been ironed out?
Also with the big update coming out, is it better to wait until then to play or just start and enjoy the new goodies once they release?
