Is the Chamberlain MyQ compatible with a new Genie model 2035 chain drive opener?

I recently replaced the garage door opener for my Father with a Genie model 2035 chain drive opener. I have not been successful in having the MyQ device successfully pair with the garage door opener. I checked compatibility prior to purchase of the Genie model 2035 and saw that it should have been compatible, but going through the app there is no way to enter a model, just select from some very vague opener names. We had no issue programming any of the wireless remotes for his opener, however the MyQ pairing has not been successful with an hour spent attempting to program it. Any programming advice is appreciated!
