So I really hope this doesnāt scream internalized misogyny but I (cis f) generally donāt vibe that much with very feminine/typical girly girls. I know that sounds very clichĆ© but itās just been my experience. I get along better with women than men but, less girly women. I enjoy makeup but I have zero interest in anything hair/nail/heels/dress related. My partner originally told me she was ādefinitely notā a girly girl and she was more of a āflannel lesbianā (as she called it). Well, sheās definitely way more hyper feminine than I thought.
I realize that sheās only been out for a month or so, and thereās a chance sheās just trying everything out. But Iām genuinely a bit put off by the changes in personality/vernacular. The women I have been with in the past have all been masculine presenting so this is all definitely new to me.
I feel so bad but I wish she was more of a tomboy because talking about dresses and nail polish is just so not my thing. Sheās also changing the words she uses and her expressions and itās been so...odd for me. She initially stressed that the person I knew was still there, sheād just undergo physical changes.
But this is very much not the person I knew. And Iām not sure how to deal with that.
