I’m trying but nothing I’m doing seems genuine to them

I already find my MTF partner attractive and call them pretty and compliment their face and hair and they haven’t even started HRT yet. I’ve had all the talks with them about calling them a different name and they basically said it just doesn’t feel genuine and I’m just faking for them. What am I supposed to do?
