I bought a mango yesterday and am now considering going through the hell of peeling it. Picked it up and remembered the first time I ever ate a mango.
My dad and I used to do all the grocery shopping together each week when my brother and I moved in with him. To make it more fun we'd buy a new food every week and try it. One week we got mangos and I decided to eat one on the way home. Neither of us had ever ate mango before and were basically just used to seeing them on shampoo bottles.
So I bit the mango, died a little inside, then threw it out the car window while my dad laughed at me. We googled how to eat a mango when we got home but I avoided mango for years out of anger at that first bite of mango.
Edit: I feel like it's important to add that I was 19 at the time.
