Fungal Medicine Linked to Hypoglycemia
Post Body

https://www.empr.com/news/micafungin-hypoglycemia-type-1-diabetes-cervical-necrotizing-fasciitis-case/article/813087/

"After administration of micafungin, the patient's insulin requirement dropped to 0 for more than 48 hours. Upon discontinuing micafungin and switching to a different antifungal, her insulin needs increased again."

"they hypothesized that the agent reduces blood glucose levels through inhibition of sodium-glucose transporter-1 (SGLT1) function"

Could someone more knowledgeable about the potential effect of the fungal medicine on the SGLT1 function offer an explanation for this out of the blue phenomenon? Might be an anomaly, but could there be potential for more research?
