Music therapy graduate program advice
Post Body

Hi everybody! I’m currently a junior in college pursuing a music performance major and music therapy minor, and I hope to go to grad school for music therapy once I graduate. I’ve started trying to narrow down my list of schools to apply for since I’ll start working on applications over the summer. My list so far is below; does anyone have any information, experience, or positive or negative comments about any of these programs and the surrounding areas? Thanks!

  • Drexel University M.A.
  • Nazareth College
  • Appalachian State University
  • Temple University
  • University of Minnesota
  • SUNY New Paltz
  • Western Michigan University
  • Lesley University
  • SUNY Fredonia
  • NYU Steinhardt

Additionally, does anyone know if it is possible to work as a music therapist in the United States if I were to go abroad for my master’s? I am interested in being near family in Ireland/UK, but I don’t want to put myself in a situation where I won’t have an option to work back at home.
