Starting a music camp (X-post /r/learnmusic)
Post Body

I'm looking to start a (yearly?) program for kids in my community that helps expose them to music with a handful of other local musicians. We have several working musicians (voice, piano, guitar, etc.) along with a retired music educator, and lots of people like me that just like music a ton.

So, I'm thinking about doing it for a week in the summer when most other obligations are open (no local sports, etc.) and my main goals are to let kids explore and be exposed to different styles of music and instruments as well as to bring in instructors to do clinics, introductory lessons, etc.

I have so many ideas floating around, but we're still looking at the mechanics of it...like what the age breakdown should be, what the agenda looks like, etc. Anyone ever do anything like this before? Any suggestions?
