Like the title says, I'm a piano player (self taught for three years) trying to break into composition. I understand very basic music theory, but that's about it. I know how to build a scale (though I don't have them down to muscle memory yet), and know how keys work, but not much more.
Are there any good books out there that I can pick up? Music theory, composition, anything really. Obviously I'll need to also just sit at the piano and practice, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can pick up to read when I can't be in front of the piano. Thanks!
