Still very new to theory so I'm looking for more simplified answers. I am just wondering what your favourite chord progressions are, but also why they work. Specifically in C major because that's still an easier frame of reference for me.
I'm trying to get more an understanding of how all the chords work together, specifically ones that include non diatonic notes.
I know some basic stuff like the minor 4, but even then I don't know why it works exactly. That one hits harder than any major to minor in a key.
I know the basics of functional harmony, although I think I have a misunderstanding of how to actually use it as a useful too.
Anyway one of my favourites is
C, C/G, F/C, Fmin6, Amin7/E, D7, G7sus4/D, G7/D, C(with the next octave C played this time)
I don't think I wrote that right at all, I was just trying to stress the inversions I'm using. Any info on the theory behind that progression would be awesome, and imt excited to hear your favourites!
