What musicals would I like?

I have a strong affinity for the era of music, from the late 1800’s all the way to the 1960’s, where pop, jazz, classical, country, everything was rolled into one and recorded on an opulent sound stage.
Those old chords could really tear at your heart. It’s like they were strumming your heart strings. I love ballads and dances all the same. Do you guys know what I’m talking about?
Tentatively, I’m thinking MGM stuff?
