Songs about an old love that persists in spite of being technically friends
Post Body

Hello everyone!

Would really appreciate if someone could suggest songs that would fit the following situation that I have: I am on great terms with my ex (4 years separated, previously 2 years of a pretty decent relationship). We have persisted through a lot of hardship first as a couple, then as friends. I pursued a bunch of relationships in the meantime, but those never came close to what we had together. We totally realise that we still love each other, although definitely not as passionately as before. My recent painful breakup with another girl made us closer, but we're still technically friends: in spite of us having shared plans, my friend/ex doesn't really want to make it a relationship due to her own personal views. She does not rule out the possibility of a renewed relationship though, cause we love each other and get along very well. I definitely want to get back together and I even suggested a marriage, but I do not actively suffer over this. So I am looking for something that would fit the mood of this situation -- an old love that persists through the years no matter the present form of relationship. Possibly something about one person wishing to be together while the other doesn't really want to, in spite of there being mutual love.

Could be any genre, any language. One song that I found, which reflects my side, is "I Hate This" by Tenille Arts. The other one which fits the mood is "Love Goes On And On" by Lindsey Stirling.

Thanks a lot!
