Post Body

so i really want to start making beats, mainly boom bap and house type stuff, i just need another creative outlet and i want to learn to make beats for myself and just for fun. i cant seem to grasp making them by just using a mouse and keyboard tho i need something more analogue that i can touch and feel what i'm making. for example i also do film photography which is my only creative outlet at the moment and when i switched from digital to the analogue process i enjoyed my work a lot more and learnt a lot quicker. i guess what i'm looking for is advice and wether i should spend the money on an MPD218 and just learn with that or if i should stick to my laptop? i just thought i might ask people who are more experienced with this than i am.
