Hi, folks: This week everybody's talking about this super new, game changer experience called Spatial Audio, available on Apple Music, also called dolby Atmos, etc. Some of my friends asked for my opinion, since I play some instruments and have been mixing and producing for years, so, I'd like to know what the community thinks about that, so maybe we can learn something in the process. Basically, my opinion is: there are absolutely nothing new. Perhaps they remixed all those songs from the scratch using Dolby Atmos, but I haven't heard anything in those songs that cannot be made in a classic stereo mixing environment. TO me, it sounds like mixing exclusively for headphones. We have, usually, no more than two ears, so you cannot experience more than two audio channels using headphones. I am sure what people likes on this new approach is a wider stereo field, more paning effects and some fake binaural feeling, things that can be replicated on any modern daw without much effort..
Please, share your toughs and ideas, perhaps I am totally wrong... And excuse my English.
