Are there any additional purchases for Mac/PC that I should spring for when getting started?

Hi, I don’t do music production but plan on getting started as a side hobby. I’m still deciding between getting a prebuilt pc/building a pc, or getting a mac (for reasons aside from music production that I’m still figuring out)
Is there anything other than a DAW that I should spring for if I was to get a new machine that I might need down the line? External speakers is the first thing that comes to mind, but I really don’t know what I’m getting myself into in regards to purchases and I just want to try to plan out a budget.
