What are the Do's & Dont's of releasing music as a new band?
Post Body

Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask for this kind of advice!

My DIY punk band formed back in October of last year and have been regularly playing gigs around our local area but have so far only put out a demo produced by us that isn't to the quality I'd expect people to want to listen to.

We have 5 or 6 originals with more being written and want to be releasing music semi-regularly but also want it to be to a good enough standard that people would want to listen to it. I don't have much experience in the music industry so want to know where we should be starting. Is recording at home and producing ourselves good enough or should we be thinking about hiring recording space/someone to mix & master? We're on a very limited budget like most bands, so whatever we do would ideally be worth our money...

Basically, what should our game plan be?
