My girlfriend has moved out of the flat for other reasons, but for the entirety of time she has lived over there, this has been the state the house was in. She texted her roommates on their group countless times and endlessly to keep the house clean, took the initiative to divide chores, set up days, it was a long battle to convince her roommates that chores should be divided equally. But even after that, her roommates almost never did their part, my gf had to do their work just because nobody could possibly live in such conditions, there were maggots on the kitchen top and their maid decided to leave just because the kitchen itself was so disgusting. My gf had to convince her to stay and promised to keep the kitchen clean. For months she has been the only one to clean the kitchen top almost everyday. It felt like a favour whenever her roommates did their part. The drain was always clogged and my gf had to buy drainex everytime, and one roommate used to fight with her, as to why did she buy a product without discussing. At the end, she had to clean the drain by putting her hand in every single day. Until the day she left that god forsaken house. There was mold all over the house. Just yesterday there were 8 bags of trash in the living room and kitchen, open!

Thankfully she is leaving that house finally but I don't understand how can someone just keep making the house worse. If not for my gf, idk what kinda garbage dump the house would've been. Even me personally, I have lived in a house as filthy as this and had decided to move out. I don't understand why can't people have basic hygiene and just make their own living spaces so disgusting, it's INFURIATING. From my childhood I was taught how to keep our own house clean, don't these people's parents teach them how to keep their houses clean and no basic decency to not cause inconvenience to others on this level? The shamelessness is disgusting and I hope no one ever has to live with such people ever again. I hope most people have a good hygiene standard. I was bullied for being too clean and too sensitive about this but if you have to bully someone who does the right thing, I hope they have a hard look at themselves.
