What's a technique you learned from someone terrible, but still stand by?

Doesn't matter if they originated the technique, just that they're where you first heard it.

J* was the first person I saw blend their foundation over the eye area and set "lashline to browbone" with an appropriate shadow color for the look, instead of using a dedicated eye primer. That was probably in 2015 and I literally haven't touched an eyeshadow primer since.

Edit to say "terrible" is subjective but we probably agree on at least a few people lol
