So I have a question for all you scholars on here. I have been collecting and accumulating product for a few years now but am not yet close to selling. So far, I have been doing this as just an individual with a house and a full time job as a hobby. It's fun to me. I have been thinking recently though that I might have been doing it wrong. As a person, you generally have to pay sales tax when buying and then income tax if you sell. What if I dont sell and register as an LLC or Sole Proprietor? Would I beable to claim purchases as expenses? Then with a zero gross income, report negative cash flow annually resulting in a lower taxable income?
