Maybe I'm especially dumb,
I've been gone since... War of the Sparks (?).
But, that being said, I thought EDH was just the more...community controlled Commander, like the original format that the "official" Commander came out of. However, now, I learn from my new LGS that there is not only two different groups who play EDH and Commander but that those groups are "at war" and often play pranks on each other when allowed to play on similar nights.
Honestly, I was lured by the war glow of Fallout: Commander, my love for Lore and LoadingReadyRun. I used to play Draft alot, but money got tight, and I'm just not interested in a format with "turn 2 victory or you're not playing seriously enough". So...who do I try out?
(Note: this is obviously not accounting for either group's disposition, I'm sure they're full of wonderful and friendly people whom I will get along with fine).
