My prediction:

The serialized ring will be found in a gift bundle’s collector booster.

Gift bundles release three weeks after prerelease (July 7th). That’s three guaranteed weeks of frantic purchasing and searching in only collector booster boxes. Tack on extra shipping times for the gift bundles, which ends up as a full month before it’s found. Three weeks provides enough time for hype to build but isn’t long enough that hype dies. If it were to be found during prerelease in a collector booster box, sales momentum for collector boxes would die. Three to four weeks without finding it prevents buyers remorse and can increase sales.

Most gift bundles go to individuals and aren’t opened en masse on streams by LGSs and content creators. The EV for gift bundles isn’t worth opening them online.

A gift bundle is easier to track. If the ring is in a collector booster within a booster box, it’s one of 12 packs that could randomly be sold. It’s easier to track a box that goes to an LGS or individual than a single pack within a collector box. (I’m assuming it’s being semi-tracked by WotC).
