Is anyone else irritated with Trowbridge Rd when you exit off 127/496?

I understand that 95% of Michigan roads are complete crap and that gravel roads are smoother than most main thoroughfares, but why doesnโt the City of East Lansing or the University completely replace this road? This is essentially a main gateway to the university and the road is total shit. For visitors and first timers it has to leave a terrible impression.
Edit: THIS ROAD IS GETTING FIXED!
