Hello, I just got offered a job to transfer to a new hotel location opening up. They are willing to sponsor a work visa, but after seeing the necessary documents, I find myself kinda worried about it being rejected. They asked for a college diploma, which I don't have and I only have 8 years in the industry, with a little less than three years at my current job. I've been married to my Japanese wife for 5 years and we currently live in chicago so I thought maybe it would be easier to go through the process of getting a spousal visa instead as it seems easier.
Also would it be faster if I go to Japan and do a change of status to spousal visa? Do it from abroad? Or should I just let me job do the leg work and get me a work visa even though I have no college degree nor certs, just work experience less than 10 years?
I would like to be in Japan asap because the Hotel is due to open soon, and I want to get acclimated before that happens. Any advice from people would be awesome.
