As the title says, I'm moving to Japan in a week. I'm gonna be working at an eikaiwa but I won't be starting til February (and that will be for a month of training.) I'm arriving at night on January 1 so I'll have a month for myself to adjust and explore. I'll be in Nagoya living in a sharehouse until March before I get placed somewhere else for the rest of my year contract. The nerves are starting to hit me.. I've been wanting to go to Japan for most of my life so the fact that it's happening is really hitting me haha.
I've been on Reddit for a while and I used the search function but I wanted to ask, do any of you have tips for adjustment during your first few weeks? What did you do during your first few weeks? I'd love to read about different experience people have had, how long you've been in Japan, and what you do for work. I have an idea as to where to go to make the most of my time in Nagoya and I'll be visiting a couple friends in Tokyo whenever I can. I just have to make a list and I'll decide what to do and when to do them when I get there. I'm getting really nervous but I know I'll be fine. The anxiety is just starting to get to me.
If you've had any experience staying at a sharehouse, please share them with me in the comments!! :)
