Crocs as indoor footwear?

Hi there!
This August I will be moving to Japan to study at uni there for 11 months; and part of my packing list includes a pair of indoor slippers!
I absolutely love my crocs and would really like to bring a pair with me as my indoor shoes if this is culturally acceptable! Is this the case? Or are they too "outdoorsy" to be considered indoor-wear? :)
