Me and my SO have played with the idea for almost a year now and have pretty much settled on moving to Michigan from southern Tennessee after the new year. We were pretty set on moving to Ohio about a year ago but then he got a job in exhaust and originally loved the shop he works at. Now it’s a different story, he’s unhappy at work and I’ve had the desire to relocate for the last ten plus years (I hadn’t moved before now due to past relationships not wishing to relocate) so we had a talk over the weekend and have pretty much settled on the Monroe area of Michigan. We’re gonna finish fixing up our home and put it on the market in January then once it sells and we pay what I owe the mortage lender (it was seller financed so I pay the woman who sold me the home) and I pay what I owe for the AC/Heating unit to be installed we’re going to head up to Michigan.
I’m needing some advice on how soon to start looking for jobs and would it be financially sound to stay in an Airbnb until finding a place to buy or rent, we would prefer to buy tho. And how much would be sound to have put back for the move?
