So the move isn't just around the corner. We've got some time to prepare. But after deciding on moving, I have to admit, it's raised some anxiety.
I made a big move 16 years ago. I went from Phoenix to a small town in northern Arkansas. It was great, I accomplished everything I was hoping for in the move and in the years following. Met my wife, we've got a couple kids. And we've done alright.
However, over the years the town has started dying. Kids are getting older, and well we want a place that's going to have more opportunities for us, and for our kid's future. Hence the move.
We started out looking closer. Springfield, Mo, Fayetteville, Ar, even Tulsa, Ok. But as winter settled in, we got the bright idea of heading further west. Phoenix was out, just to expensive really. So we looked at Tucson and Las Cruces.
Both of us gravitated to Las Cruces, we're planning a sort of second honeymoon there to get the feel of it, to make sure it's right for us.
Over the next few months, anxiety has been creeping in. What if she/we don't like it after the move, what if I can't nail down a good job, what if, what if...
I know it's all in my head. We've done good here, we can do good there. But I ask you, those that have had similar headspace, how did you get passed it?
