How to Move

Trying to make my move cheap as possible. Uncurrently in Texas and wanting to move to the northeast sometime in the next 5-6 months. I only have 2 big piece of furniture a bed and a desk and the rest of my bedroom will probably fit in 3 large boxes I don't have a lot of items. Aside from the 2 large pieces of furniture I could probably fit them in my car myself. But it's still undetermined as to whether I'm even bringing my car I might be selling it. Still have a lot of details to workout but I want to start planning so what would be the best option for this?
