Last night, Toronto had the honour to start off the Whiplash in Concert tour with Justin Hurwitz. Seeing the movie all over again and having a live band perform all the music was exhilarating. The first time I saw this movie was in an empty theatre back in 2014 and it was exciting to watch my all-time favourite movie along with other fans years later.
The performances were mind-blowingly good, especially the drummer! What a talent. The ending was sensational and my jaw dropped when the drum solo came on. Witnessing the drummer kill it during the solo… I had chills! It was truly something.
When the credits rolled, we cheered and applauded everyone and we stood for the rest of the credits as they performed.
I would highly recommend seeing this performance when you get the chance!
