So I was reading the post about boycotting Hollywood and it got me thinking about what people were saying about studios not making what we consumers want to see. I know it's a long shot but would people be willing to join in with other redditors and donate money to fund a feature film? I don't work in the industry or even know how to go about doing this but I would imagine we could get filmmakers to pitch their ideas to the community and then vote on which project we would like to fund. I'm not wealthy by any means, but I would be willing to give $20 to see a good idea get made into a movie. It may be a complete flop but at least you would have a great story to tell about the time you helped fund a movie. I think that's what we are all looking for is a way to take the power out of the studios hands and finally have a say as to what gets made into a movie. I'd love to hear feedback on if this is possible or what you think. tldr: Would you be interested in helping to fund a movie?
