I remember this very scary presentation when I was a kid (mid 2000's). There was a scene where a man in all black chased 2 boys through the woods in the snow, until one fell and the man drowned him in a shallow pond under the ice as the other kid escapes reluctantly, in an extremely graphic display for a kid to see. The scene that followed is the boy who survived in the hospital being haunted by the ghost of the boy he left behind to be drown. There was also an underlying plot of adults solving a dumpster murder relating to a mansions and maybe vampires?
