This is a long shot, but hey.. It's been bothering me for years so I might as well give it a try lol.

Like the title says, it's an animated movie from what I believe to be the 80s or 90s, I used to rent it constantly as a kid during the mid/late 90s.

All I remember is this peaceful town/villiage is plagued by what I remember to be "monsters" that come from possibly some cave in a mountain near by? Perhaps said baddies get like... Honey(?) Dumped on them from people hiding in the trees in an attempt to stop the yearly invasion of their town. Mabey it was always on Halloween or something?

I really wish I had more for you to go on, but my memory is spotty regarding stuff from last week.. Let alone 2 decades ago lol. Thanks a bunch!
