Summary:
Two childhood friends, convicted felon Collin and troublemaker Miles are trying to get through the last three days of Collin's year-long probation. Collin lives in a probation house and struggles with trying to get his life in order and put his criminal past behind him, while the short-tempered and rowdy Miles searches for trouble and embraces the "street" lifestyle. One night while waiting anxiously for a red light to change in order to get home for his 11 p.m. curfew, Collin witnesses a white police officer gun down a black civilian, an incident that haunts Collin over the next few days. Miles purchases a gun which ends up in the hands of his young son Sean, an incident which horrifies Sean's mother Ashley. Collin begins to realize that Miles' recklessness will likely land him into trouble, and the two are set on an explosive collision course.

After Credits Scene? No
This movie is one that I'll definitely be buying a digital copy of just so I can watch the rapping scenes with subtitles. There were some great lines that everyone caught in the theater, reacting to both the humor and the burn but I know that I missed some stuff, especially that sailboat and garage scene when the characters were talking hella fast. Did anybody else suspect that Diggs took the fall for Casal? When that Pitch Perfect guy came in recounting the whole ordeal of why Diggs was ultimately sentenced to prison, I kept thinking that it seemed out of character for Diggs to do that to the out-of-towner, even going so far as continuing to beat him up while they were both on fire. I was even thinking that maybe Diggs was being blamed for something the Casal did, similar to when Casal was honking and cursing out the jerk who wouldn't move his car and Val getting a complaint about a "black guy with dreads" harassing him, even though it really was Casal. It showed a lot about Diggs when he defended himself saying something along the lines that maybe this time it wasn't him (without saying Casal outright did it) and Val just bursting with the "take responsibility for something for once...own up to it" spiel. Also, how heartbreaking was that scene with the kid immediately raising his hands up and exclaiming don't shoot when Diggs reprimanded him to stop?! You can already see that something's up with Diggs, not arriving in his uniform, going inside Casal's place, and playing with the kid. Jesus, that was such a quick turn of emotion from annoyance to a something else? Can't even pin it. It was like a confused, sad, and angry face all at the same time. And how the whole ordeal seemed so casual for the mom and the kid. When the mom overheard the shouts of stop and don't shoot, saying how it's good for the kid to practice. I think this was the breaking point for Diggs, the one that pushed him to the edge especially when he saw that cop again. Last question, what was the significance of Diggs telling the kid that he went to jail for being a "tough guy?" We see Casal teaching his kid to be a tough guy so how does that compare with Diggs telling the kid that this sent him to jail?
