Can someone explain The Godfather marriage scene to me?
Post Body

Okay this has always stumped me, so Michael gets hit with the thunderbolt, then pursues this woman. When they meet his father one of his bodyguards serves as an interpreter, why doesn't Michael just speak Italian to him? Not to mention when Michael was hit with the thunderbolt the woman seemed intrigued at first, then scared of Michael as she turns around. When they are at dinner with the families they are sitting far apart and they make eye contact and she rubs her necklace to signify it then they grin at each other across the table, what is the significance of the necklace gesture? (I do understand that it is Sicilian tradition to carry out a first date in the way they do that I do not need explained) then after the marriage when there in their honeymoon so to speak of room, they kiss and infer they have sex, why is it though that she is so scared when they are kissing? It's almost as if it's not consented she doesn't look like she wanted to have sex or get married. Then of course after that she gets into a car rigged with explosives in an attempt to kill Michael, I understand that part just not everything in between
