Why does the lego movie come out in NZ two months AFTER the US and Europe?

I ask this because I was really looking forward to seeing the Lego Movie, But it appears that it comes out here in New Zealand on the 17th of April. Thats a full 2 months away! Most third world countries get it before we do.

Why do they do this, especially with digital being in almost every cinema around? There are no problems with distributing it now, as they just need to make digital copies.
