What do you think of Francious Truffant, Jean Luc Goddard, Celine Sciamma and Jean Jacques Beneux?

I think Truffant was a pretty good director, Goddard was quite a good director, Sciamma is a great filmmaker, and Beneux was a great director. What do you think of them?

Truffant and Goddard are both overrated. They are really respected and pretty liked, but I've seen quite a few of their films, and many of the films I've seen were just alright or quite good. Beneux did a masterpiece with Betty Blue, but Diva was just somewhat good. Sciamma made a very good film with Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and helped make Paris, 13th District a very good film.

Are there French directors or actors that you really like?
