Don’t get me wrong, oldman as Churchill was amazing but something about ddls performance in phantom thread and just the overall movie has stayed with me. It’s probably my favourite PTA movie of all time and it gave me my favourite ddl performance too even though something like there will be blood is objectively better.

Considering ddl had announced that phantom thread was his last movie should have probably given him the edge in 2018 to win his 4th Oscar so I was surprised when oldman won it, not that he didn’t deserve it
